RentX is a broker, and we say so. Customers book with us and a vetted local operator does the driving. Trust is what makes that work: for operators, it’s confirmed bookings, clear communication and payment on time, every time; for customers, it’s knowing exactly who will drive them, named on the confirmation the moment they pay. It takes years to build and a minute to lose, so we earn it booking by booking.

Here’s something we never hide: RentX is a broker. Customers book with us, and a professional local operator does the driving. We’ve worked this way for well over twenty years, and we’re proud of it. But when we brought RentX to the United States in 2026, we learned all over again how hard trust is to win, and how quickly it can be lost. This is how we earn it, with operators and with customers, one booking at a time.
What a broker actually does
If you’re new to the idea, it’s simple. A customer comes to RentX with a date, a pickup and a plan: a wedding, a prom, a corporate event, an airport run. We find the right vehicle with a vetted local operator, confirm the booking, take care of the customer before and after, and pay the operator for the work. The operator brings the vehicle, the chauffeur and the local know-how.
Done well, everyone wins. The customer gets one trusted place to book and a real choice of vehicles. The operator gets confirmed work they would never have found on their own. Done badly, it leaves both sides out of pocket and out of patience, which is exactly why trust matters so much in this business.
Why trust is hard to win
Brokers don’t always have the best name. Without naming anyone, most operators in this industry have a story about a booking that didn’t add up, a customer who was promised something that was never agreed, or a payment that arrived late, or never. Customers have their stories too. So when a new broker calls, the first reaction is caution, and it’s a fair one.
That’s exactly what we met when we started calling operators across America. Every call became a pitch: who we are, where we came from, how long we’ve been doing this. Operators had no reason to know that we’d spent over two decades as the UK’s biggest transport broker, with more than 300,000 bookings behind us. In a new country, that history counts for very little until you prove it again.
What changed: we just did the work
Talking was never going to be enough. What changed minds was the work itself:
- We sent real bookings. Confirmed jobs with the details settled, not leads to chase.
- We communicated clearly. Every booking arrived with what the operator needs to know, and we stayed reachable before, during and after the job.
- We paid on time. Every time. Nothing builds trust faster, and nothing breaks it faster when it slips.
- We kept doing it. One good booking proves very little. A hundred good bookings make a relationship.
Operators started to see the difference for themselves. Today we work with regular operators right across the USA, in every state, and operators who were cautious on that first call now work with us week in, week out.
We never forget the other side of that equation, though. Trust takes years to build and a single let-down to break. One missed payment or one broken promise can undo everything, so we treat every booking as if the whole relationship depends on it, because it does.
No operators, no RentX
We say this plainly, to operators and customers alike: our business, and any broker’s business, cannot exist without operators. Every ride we book is carried out by a professional local operator who provides the vehicle and the chauffeur, and knows the roads. Our job is to bring them the work, represent them well and make every booking a good experience on both sides.
That’s why we choose our partners carefully, and why we ask them to share our standards: on time, well presented, honest with the customer. It works both ways. We hold ourselves to the standards our operators expect of us, and we’d rather lose a booking than let a partner down.
What a broker brings to an operator
A good broker isn’t a middleman taking a cut of work you already had. It’s a source of work you would never have reached on your own:
- Customers from outside your area. A family in Chicago planning a wedding in Sacramento, a company booking transportation for a conference three states away, a couple flying in for a weekend. They don’t know your name, and they won’t find you. They find us.
- Searches you don’t rank for. People search for exactly what they want: a Rolls-Royce for a wedding, a party bus for prom, a Sprinter van for a wine tour, in thousands of towns. RentX is built to answer those searches with pages for every service and every place we cover.
- National marketing, with two decades of experience behind it. We’ve been marketing transportation online for over twenty years: search, advertising and a brand customers recognize. That reach is hard for a single local business to build, and we can point it at any region, any vehicle and any service our operators offer.
- The work before the work. We handle the inquiry, the questions, the quote and the payment, so an operator’s time goes into what they do best.
How we earn trust with customers
- We tell you we’re a broker. Upfront, on our site and on the phone.
- We tell you who’s driving. As soon as we take your payment, your confirmation names the operator we’ve placed your booking with. There’s nothing to hide, so we don’t.
- We stand behind every booking. You have one place to call before, during and after your trip, and that place is us.
- We work with licensed professionals. Operators are checked against our standards before we place a single booking with them.
- We’re easy to check. RentX Inc. is based in Roseville, California. Our US launch was covered on Yahoo Finance, and our reviews are public on Trustpilot. There’s more on our story and on how RentX works.
What to look for in any broker
Whether you run a transportation business or you’re booking one, these are the questions worth asking any broker, including us:
- Are they open about being a broker? If they hide it, ask yourself what else they’re hiding.
- Will the customer know who is driving? A trustworthy broker names the operator on the confirmation.
- Do they pay on time? Ask operators who already work with them.
- Are bookings confirmed with full details? Pickup, times, passengers and the occasion, in writing, before the day.
- Do they bring new work? A broker should reach customers you can’t, not resell the ones you already have.
- Can you reach a real person? Before, during and after every job.
- How long have they been doing this? Experience isn’t everything, but it’s hard to fake twenty years.
Questions people ask
Is RentX a broker?
Yes, and we say so openly. Customers book with RentX, and a vetted local operator carries out the booking. We’ve worked this way for over twenty years.
Will I know which company is driving me?
Yes. As soon as your payment is taken, your confirmation names the operator we’ve placed your booking with.
How do operators work with RentX?
We send confirmed bookings in your area and pay on time for the work. If you run a limo, party bus, coach or chauffeur business, you can apply to join RentX.
Why book through a broker instead of directly?
One place to compare vehicles and get quotes, one point of contact who stands behind the booking, and a backup if plans change. For operators, a broker brings customers they would never have reached on their own.
Where does RentX operate?
Across the US, with operators in every state. See our coverage map.
